Electrical problem
1991 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

up until about a month ago the truck ran smoothly! Then it started blowing fuses and dying right in the middle of driving down the road! Its a complete loss of power. We change the fuses ALL the time to get it to start. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Lately when we can get it to start then it will just stop running with no warning! The only thing we have done lately is put a stereo system in it, but have checked tons of times and see nothing wrong. We reset the ECM box and it still pops a fuse when you try to start it! Whats going on. Everyone has said to get a new ECM box but how do I know thats the problem? Please help! I don't have a lot of money to waste.

Yea it is the ECM/IGN 10 amp. We have put everything up to a 40 amp in it. It still blows. Yes we have unhooked the stereo and it blows. We even unhooked the wiring harness and it still blows. We're baffled! What could stop a car from starting and is connected to the fuse box? HMMM.
