I have a 99 Chevy Silverado
1500
4x4
4.9L
with 86,000 miles.

Recently I have been having hard starts when it is warm. In the morning the engine starts right up no issues, but when the truck has been setting out all day in the sun it does not start right up, and when it does finally turn over it putters, and idles very low, unless given gas. The truck has even died on me when I was in traffic and just rolling at an idle forward.
I have seen similar issues posted on the web and some suggest Fuel Pressure regulator. Does this sound like a possible solution?

If you had the 5.3 motor I would be suspicious of the fuel pressure regulator. I would recommend checking the fuel pressure to make sure it is in spec when the problem is happening. Also check for any codes in the computer.
