My son put 4 gallons of fuel in his trucks gas tank without realizing that 2 gallons of what was in the red plastic fuel tank was rainwater. He drove about a mile before his truck stopped. What is the easiest and cheapest way he can remedy this problem? Im sure he'll need to change the fuel filter and what else? Where is the fuel filter on this particular truck? Can it be changed without dropping the gas tank? How can he clear the slug of water that is in the fuel line between the trucks gas tank and the engine? Your help is greatly appreciated.

4 Gallons is alot, I would suggest removal of the tank and cleaning it out. As far as a fuel filter, I dont think an 06 has one, if it does it will be on the frame rail under the drivers area. Removing the fuel rail an draining it will get most of thewater out. When the tank is installed with clean fuel, you can leave the fuel line disconnected from the fuel rail and cycle the key on, to wash the water out of the lines, but be careful it is under pressure and will spray alot of fuel out. When all done, use a can of "heat" or other water disperser in thetank just to be sure. It may run rough at first, but once the system is purged of water it should be ok
