My truck runs great but runs through a quart of oil between changes. It doesn't leak anywhere but why does it eat the oil?

How much oil does it use in how many miles? Do you expect it not to use any oil? Many manufactures will not consider that an engine is a problem unless it uses more than 1 qt in 2000 miles.

My 2002 Silverado 2wd, 5.3 does the same, 1/2 quart after 1000 to 1500 miles, then the other half close to 3000, I thought it might be just durning break in, but its been that way up till now at 65000, and thats being easy on it most of the time, I also have a 1999 Chevy Venture van, piece of junk by the way, but its 3.4 v6 may use just 1/2 quart closer to 4000 miles and thats at 70 o 80 mph, plus alot of starting and stopping, I may try some synthetic oil to see if any different. Did it just start using oil? These lower intake gaskets go bad all the time and one symptom is a internal engine vacuum leak which will cause you to burn oil.
