My power steering deesn't work well all of a sudden. The pickup has been setting for about 2 weeks in very cold weather. I started it and warmed it up before I drove it. I drove the truck about 1 mile with out any problems. I made a u turn, after the u turn it was almost impossible to steer. I drove the 1 mile back home, checked the flud, it was almost empty, I added flud, that didn't help the steering problem at all. Do you think I have a bigger issue going on now?
thank you

If it was that low, I wonder if you have air in the system. Try this, lift and support the front of the vehicle. (WITH THE ENGINE OFF) Fill the PS pump. Now slowly turn the steering all the way to the left and then to the right. Do this several times and check the fluid level. If it has gone down, refill it and do it again until the level doesn't drop.

Let me know if this helps.
