My truck was wrecked and I had a new front clip installed.

Now it won't start. It will run for a few seconds, then shuts down like it's not getting any fuel.

I've been told that it may be in the computer.

Any ideas?

Hello,

There could be a number of reasons why the engine is not staying on.
Likely not due to the ECM.
This type of issue many times due to a fuel supply issue. Like a malfunction fuel pressure regulator, or a clog in the fuel line. It can also be due to a bad mass airflow sensor or throttle position sensor.

Checking the fuel pressure could be a good place to start.
This vehicle should have 55-62 PSI of fuel pressure, with the key on and engine off.

Here is a helpful guide on how to check the fuel pressure:

Is the check engine light illuminated on the dash?
Many times, with starting issues the light can get triggered. If so scanning and retrieving the code(s) can help with the diagnostics.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
