Electrical problem
1996 Chevy Silverado V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140k miles

Hi, I have a 96 chevy silverado, short bed, regular cab, 2 wd. My trucks has been having some electrical problems such as, lights inside dash and running lights flickering on and off and it makes a sort of buzzing noise when it does this, as well as my power door controls sometimes work and other times dont, my cd player also comes has the same problem, also it has a hard time starting here and there and sometimes when it starts after a loud noise from the starter it sounds like it over starts and makes a loud wind up noise upon firing. All these problems come on and off randomly and seem to go hand and hand. I'm wondering where I should start and what I should check before I spend all my money to get it looked at elsewhere. Thank you so much for the help!

You are going to need a wiring diagram with ground distributions. Do an electrical system test on the charging system and verify the alternator can put out 14.5 volts and that the battery has no corrosion at the terminals.

Begin checking all grounds at the engine and chasis that relate to "courtesy" (crtsy-curcuit) are clean and tight. Make sure that any external trailer connectors, audio, are not damaged. Start there and then we can move forward.

Hi again, I noticed that where the hazard signal button is, the actual button is missing and it is just a screw that has been screwed into the hole that the button/ switch would have been in. When I turn the screw it flashes the lights and when I loosen the screw the buzzar goes off. Can something like this have n e thing to do with my electrical problems elsewhere, and also. Is there a reason someone would have done this type of, "home made repair"? Thank you for your time agian.
