Gas smell

96 Chevy Blazer 4 wheel driver 4.3 engine. I have a slight gas smell when car isn't running, coming from the tank area, no leaks just smell. Would changing the filter help?

Changing the filter will help if that is what is the cause. Being a 96, I wouldn't be surprized if the sending unit, fuel tank, fuel filler neck or the fuel lines are rotted enough that the fuel is seaping through. You need to get under there with your nose, lights and a mirror to try to narrow it down.
