I have a 1989 Chevy Celebrity V6 with 120,000 miles. The car is overheating and I have changed the thermostat and radiator cap. The return hose on the radiator stays soft like there is no pressure. There is no leakage of antifreeze and the level of the coolant stays constant. Also the faster I go, the higher the temperature gets and when I slow down the temp. Comes back down somewhat. What could be wrong?

If you let car idle and watch fluid in radiator as motor warms up, can you eventually see that there is there 'flow' (swirling/turbulance) in the fluid in the radiator? Does the radiator get warm/hot near to and cool near bottom?

Has all air been removed from the cooling system? If above done, may want to check for a partially or fully plugged radiator. Or a fauilty thermostat.?
