Engine Performance problem
1987 Other Chevrolet Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual unknow miles

My radiator looks like it may be plugged up is there something I can try at home to flush it with to clear it, before i take it in and spend money i don't have on it. My truck is not registring real hot but the engine sputters and falters when you drive from stops it jerks and shakes and feels like it's not getting gas than all of a sudden it gets the gas and speeds up real fast. timing problem? I don't know.Help

there are a few radiator cleaners on the market taht work ok if you use them as directions say. Prestone is one of the manufacturers. You have to leave it in for 100 miles. But if your fins on the radiator are loose in corroded, save some money and get a new radiator. The shuddering and jerking can be just a tune up along with a fuel filter change. If this is a 2.5L engine then the distributor could be bad as they did have a problem with that.
