Hello guys,
I have the original battery in my car. I have never had a no start problem or needed boost. My questin is: Since the winter is approaching and I live in the cold state of Michigan, I was wondering should I buy a new battety as a precaution? A second question is I have never had spark plugs, wires, and what else go with a tune up done. Should I mayble have that done? I have almost 52,000 miles.

Thanks for any help. I dont want to go to a shop to ak if I need those things because they may see this middle aged woman and tell me YEAH!

Batteries tend to last 4-6 years. The proper way to test them is to have a battery load test done. If it fails this test, you need a battery.

With regards to your spark plugs, your owners manual states exactly when you should replace them. I believe it's around the 80,000mi mark.

Thanks you so much for the advice. I didnt know kind of thought a battery last about 3-4 years. But I always thought you changed the spark plugs and wires every year or two. This is my first new car I purchased. I always had cars 8 years or older in the past and would have tune ups every year and change battery every 3 years.
