Stereo will not play the fm radio stations?

Why will my car stereo not play the fm radio stations very loud but will play the am stations and cds fine.

Hello,
It is likely that the FM circuit of the radio is faulty.
Many of these Malibu's have the same issue.
The fix is to replace the radio unit.
I have attached the diagrams for your reference.
