I have a 97 Malibu with 2.4L engine which misses on cylinders #1 and #3
I have checked compression accros the board and all foud average 180psi, I have pulled the coil housing and all four are sparking, all the plugs have been changed as well. The injectors are firing verrified with noid light and pulled out and checked and all seem to have good pattern. I have even swapped out the coil housing from another engine and that did not help. So I have Ignition, Fuel, Air and compression I just can not figure out why these two cylinders are not firing?

Your going to have to trust me on this. I have seen this many times. Replace the white coil housing and the problem will go away.

I have three entire module, cap, wire assemblies, all three do exact same thing. One of them does have new (cap) on it. After doing some more checking number one has lost its signal to the injector, # 3 still has signial but makes no diference whether its pluged in or not.

Something your telling me cannot be true. You have stated that all the ignition components have been changed, the compression checked and injector operation verified. That simply cannot be.
