1998 Chevy Lumina security light, no start

i had problems before this with getting it started sometimes and it would die going down the road as well now it wont even start at all and the security light which would sometimes stay on is now blinkling and will not stop and like I said it will not start at all, now would I be able to maybe bypass the security by tracing the wires and looping them or maybe just replacing the ignition system and column
