Suspension problem
1997 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1997 Chevy Lumina, 3.1 V-6. When I hit a bump in the road, the rear-end/suspension sway dramatically then becomes stable. There is also a squeaking noise Can someone tell me what the problem maybe?

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Kirkwa

Your rear suspension is worn and can not withstand the bumps in the road so the shocks are now absorbed through the entire car instead of the suspension. The squeaking is the worn bushings in the suspension giving and causing the noise. You should have your rear shocks/struts and rear springs inspected and replaced, as necessary, at a local suspension shop.
