The ac in my '93 lumina does not work. It will blow air, but it does not cool. The car has two fans up front but neither come on, does that have anything to do with the ac? If so what could be the problems; also, my engine overheats if it sits too long, but it does have coolant, I have to check it regularly. What could be causing those problems?

Hi there,

i feel that you have 2 problems here, firstly one fan is the engine cooling fan and should come on when the temp reaches a given temp, for this I would have the fan temp sensor checked out, as for the A/C the other fan will come on with the A/C, the most common cause is no or low refrigerant as this will trigger the low pressure switch and shut down the system, check these first.
