1992 Chevy Lumina Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My girlfriend needs a new "Oil Sending Unit" if that's what it is even called. I bought one but don't know where it goes on the car. Or where the old one is on the car. Everywhere I look either online and if I ask around, I cant find the answere. She has a 1992 3.1 Chevy Lumina. Its a four door. I want to know where is it located on the car, and how do I take it out and put the new one in. Thank-you!

Hello,

It is located on the right side of the engine under Ignition Coil.

You will need a Socket or Wrench to remove and install.

Ok, since you didn't see it let make sure we are looking in right place.

Your vehicle is a 92 Chevy Lumina (Car) 3.1L

or is it the APV

If APV then it is located on the Left Side of Engine near Oil Filter.

Well, as I was changing my brake pads this morning, I did some searching underneath and found it next to the oil filter. I do NOT have the AVP, so Im suprised to have found it there in that location. I did read on google that it was located there however afer I found it. I think I am just goin to wait till the weekend to tackle that job though. That way I can take my time and not worryin about being at work. Is that directly connected to the oil? Meaning when it comes off the oil will come out through it? If so I am just gonna do an oil change at the same time. This website is great. Thanks for everyones help and input.

Oil shouldn't come out cause it is above the oil pan were the oil is so if any comes out it won't be much just a few drops or so.
