MY ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME, MY CAR IS NOT GETTING WARM, WE'VE ALREADY ADDED ANTI-FREEZE. AND LATELY IT HAS SAID TO REDUCE ENGINE PRESSURE. AND ALSO THE OTHER DAY IT SAID PLEASE TURN CAR OFF THE ENGINE IS OVER HEATING. WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?

It sounds like thermostat may be faulty, causing engine to overheat. You need to go to local part store such as AutoZone and have them retrieve trouble codes of engine light for free. Post the codes and I will follow up with diagnostic procedures.

Hello-

Though I am not a professional, I am the owner of a 2006 Chevy Impala and just had my car repaired for the same reasons you stated below.

My car was constantly overheating and I would get a message saying to stop engine. Engine overheating.

I took it to a mechanic and it was my water pump. After that was replaced I have not experienced any other problems like this.
