2006 Chevy Equinox my car makes this noise 3 times

Someone else has posted the same question, but no answer yet. My car makes this noise 3 times always the same, it used to be just when it started, but now I hear it at other times too. Sometimes just when i'm sitting at light too. It's hard to describe, but the other post said it's kind of like dadop, dadop, dadop. It's almost like a creeking noise. Anyone have an idea of what it is? I don't want to get ripped off at the shop.

What makes you think you would be ripped off if you asked for a proper diagnosis?

I'm not saying I would be, but I haven't taken a vehicle anywhere in my town yet. I was hoping to be able to go to the shop with some information. Hoping to avoid having to fix multiple things to get to the actual problem. I wasn't saying that to be rude or anything, just wondering if other people have heard the same noise and have any insight as to what it is. I would think having some idea when you go in would help.

Trying to diagnose a noise over the Internet with no other information is nearly impossible. You need trained eyes and ears there to isolate this some. Maybe after you get an opinion from a tech I may be able to be more help.
