Steering problem
1975 Chevy Corvette V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic unknow miles

I replaced the steering pump on my 1975 corvette. After installing a "after" market pump, the hole to fill with fliud cannot be reached as it is under the bracket for the alternator. Every bolt aligned properly the belt lines up fine. Is there a reason why the pump does not fit correctly?

My '79 is the same way. I loosen the pump and tilt it to the pasenger side to fill or check the fluid level. It's a hassle but since I bought the car used, I'm not sure if the original was any different.
