Was driving today when I started to come up to a red stop light so I put it in neutral to coast to the light (sumthing Ive done many times before with no problems). Pretty much as soon as I put it in neutral I heard a loud bang type sound that at first made me think I hit sumthing and I got a flat maybe but that wasnt the case. I then noticed that the engine had cut off so I had to drift to the nearest side road. The noise was just a single bang with no rattling or other noises with it. After I stopped I tried to start my car again but while it would crank, it wouldnt turn over. Dont know where to begin with this one, any help would be nice, thank you.

It sounds like the timing chain broke or stripped a couple of teeth on the gears. The fastest way to check is to remove a valve cover and observe the rocker arms. If they are not going up and down then you have a broken chain. If they are going up and down then you should check the timing chain and gears themselves. That means removing the water pump and timing chain cover. In the process of the engine going "bang" you may have also bent a couple of valves. Run a compression check to find out. GOOD LUCK!
