2005 Chevy Cobalt my driver's side of my car wont open

I dont know whats wrong with my car, just tried to open it and it wont open.I have to use the passenger's side. What should I do?

You will need to remove the door panel to gain access to the linkage and handles. Chances are the linkage came disconnected or the handle has broken where it attaches to the linkage. Does the door open from the inside?
