why does my engine run great untill I try to go faster in other words why does my car die at higher speeds and not at low speeds or at full throttle in my yard in park.

I would check the float in the carb first or try another carb, at full throttle in park it's not under a load, Nice Car Good Luck Lou

Do you have an HEI distributor? Do you have 12 volts to it? You can't use ign wire for points ign it only has 7 volts it is a resistor wire. Lou
