I HAVE A 03 CAVALIER DOHC WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS THE ENGINE TAKES A WHILE TO REACT TO MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE FEUL PUMP MY FRIEND HAS A ACURA HIS RPM REACTS FASTER THAN MINE WELL MOST OTHER CARS REACT FASTER THAN MINE I WANT TO MAKE MY CAR A STREET RACE CAR.( LEGAL STREET RACE CAR) AND SOMETIMES THE CAR WANTS TO TURN OFF KLIKE WHEN I PUT IN IN NEUTRAL IT HESITATES LIKE IT WANTS TO TURN OFF ANY ADVICE

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

its on ever since i got it but it gives me a code for gas cap when i checked, the filler meta flap did not closel u know when u put the nozzle at it doesnt close back and also it did give me a code awhile back for air pressure but i put a intake on it iguess it went away..i havnt checked the pressure on the fuel pump how do u do that.. my car has been totaled befor i got it my uncle fixed it do u think the fuel tank is dirty becaus when i changed the fuel filter the gas was black
