2000 Chevy Cavalier Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 100000 miles

I have a 2000 chev. Cavalier it is a 2.2 4cyl motor. My problem started when I left work I noticed that my car felt funny. Usually it will shift and the rpm will go down, not this time. Everytime I would excell the rpm would go up to 2. It usually wouldnt do that after it shifts but it like lost power. I guess. It will still drive for now but I only drove that couple blocks home because I dont want to risk it. When I pulled out of work it seemed like something was leeking by the exaust. Then I went home and parked my car and noticed that there was something frozen on the ground it seemed slipery like oil? Please help! What could this be?

Oil doesn’t freeze up water does
Check oil and have tranny fluid checked
And may be scan the transmission for codes

Low power + liquid discharge from tailpipe? Check the color of your radiator fluid. If it is black and oily then the head gasket may be to blame.

If so, get a compression check on your cylinders. If one or two show much lower than the others, then they could be leaking oil into the cooling system.
