What would cause code #P0118 and how do I fix it? I did replace coolant temp sensor. Temperature gauge stops working when engine fan comes on and code goes active.

Hi:
If you replaced the CTS, then I have to ask a question. Did you reciently change the coolant or have the system flushed? If so, bleed the system so there are no air blocks. If not, I feel it is related to the PCM or a wiring problem to the PCM. I suggest having it checked at a dealer. You may even want them to check the EGR. Finally, is does the car run rough when this happens?

Here i s a picture of how the system ties together. Check for wiring repairs and connection repairs.

Let me know if this helps. I really feel there is a bad connection causing the engine to think it's running at below 0 degree temps.
