The car has run to date with no issues oil changes and replaced a power steering line recently

just returned slowed and applied brakes car started running rough and stalled

what could the potential problem be and what would the estimate cost to repair be?

thank you

More detail.

This is a scenario of a lock up converter problem.
Car drives fine around town,
But after you come to a stop after going 55 or more the engine jerks and dies. Like what would happen if you stopped a car with a manual transmission while in gear.

You should be able to restart the car in Park like normal.

Is this what is happening?

Are you going to buy the parts and do the work yourself or have a shop do it?

I can only give you an estimate for a shop in my neighborhood.
Different parts of the country have different labor rates. And depending on where they buy their parts will have an effect on the final price as well.

If you are in the central Mid-west (Kansas and Missouri)
And the problem is the lock up solenoid, then expect a bill of $600.00
