1986 Chevy Caprice V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 98.000 miles

i have a 1986 chevy caprice 305 5.0. I just installed a new catalytic converter and muffler and resonator. And now my engine has a rough idle and it shakes alot. I had the problem before but every once in a while and now it just wont stop. Any idea what it can be? And also I noticed that after I run the car for a while the service engine light comes on but when I turn it off it and back on its not on anymore.

Check for cracks in the vacuum hoses, or an unhooked vacuum hose.

I just started it today again it when its cold it dosent shake but once it gets hot its starts shakin. What vacum hoses? Could it be anything related to a oxegen sensor or egr valve?

Yes both. But get some throttlebody cleaner or carb cleaner and gently spray it around the intake manifold and all of the skinny hoses going in and out of the intake manifold and elswhere, if you hear the idle change then that is where your leak is, and obviously the car must be running.
