I have a 3800 V6, the engine has been rebuilt with less than 500 miles since rebuild. Problem being as the engine is cold and as warming up oil preasure is around 60 psi, after temp. Has been reached at ideal the preasure drops to less than 10 psi when in gear almost to 0 psi at ideal. At 2000 rpm at temp the preasure is around 15 psi. A very mild cam was installed at rebuild, pistons, rings, lifters, oil pump, bearings all new. I have tried a new sending unit. Please help me with any ideas. I have heard of streching the regulater spring?

WHat I need you to do is get a manual oil pressure gauge so you can check to see if what you see inside the car is accurate. Most parts stores will lend or rent the gauge. Alll you do is remove the sending unit and screw in the gauge. It isn't hard. Also, let me know if you hear any ticking or knocking when the oil pressure is at 0psi.

Let me know what you find.
