i drive a 1985 cheve camaro. I Noticed that i had to push my clutch pedle in further to get the shifter into gear. A couple days after that i hear a pop when i push the clutch pedle in to start my car..and thats when it went to the floor. I had no resistance in the clutch pedle at all. Someone told me it was the slave cylander so install a new one. and it starts leaking fluid from the boot right where the little rod comes out of the actual cylander. I go return it get a new one. intall it.. It works( just like it did right before it broke...still not perfect) but then about 10-12 miles later i have little pressure but the shifer just isnt going into gear so i drive 10 miles home without the clutch pedle. i get the 3rd slave cylander and the same thing happens.. i finally return that one and order a different brand.(more expensive) i install it i get pressure right away (after bleeding) but now my car wont start. I then ask a friend of mine to push in the clutch wile i was under the car so i could see what exactly is happening. the part in wich the metal rod that comes out of the slave cylander touches is in one place the whole time the clutch is being pushed in and out. It looks as if the metal rod is trying to force that piece no where. so what i was thinking is . Is that peice that is supposed to be moved by the metal rod supposed be starting at a higher point to allow the metal rod to actual push it to the spot that is in right now. I then bleed the whole system dry..push in my clutch pedle(with no resistance) and my car starts right up. So i guess my question would be did i just buy faulty slave cylanders? or is there a bigger interal problem? thx for your time :)
