1982 Chevy Camaro Fuel System

Hello, after it dies, is the choke valve closed, engine won't run with the choke valve completely closed. If you try starter fluid in the intake, will it start? When it refuses to restart, engine cranking, do you have spark at the plugs? Some of these carbs, I can remove the air-horn without too much trouble, I look to see if there is any fuel in the float-bowl?

I didn't ask if the vehicle had a carb or fuel injected?
