My '01 Blazer starts fine and idles fine around 1000/1100 rpm. Whne I shift to reverse/drive its drops to about 500 rpm or stalls. Ther ehas not other performance problem as long as I get my foot on the gas. Stop at a light or slow to turn and it stalls. This doesnt happen all the time but I would say 60% of the time. I have replaced the fuel filter but still same problem. There are no check/service engine lights showing up but they DO work. I am good at worjing on cars but recently lost all tools books and aotu related when my workshop was flooded and nothing was salvagable and I honestly dont have $280 for a fuel pump

An idle of 1000 or 1100 is too high. I think your problem is the idle air control valve. It may just be dirty. Or may need replacement. Here is some info for you

I earlier gave the wrong RPM info. Sorry! My '01 Blazer starts fine and idles fine around 500 rpm. When I shift to reverse/drive, turn steering wheel. Its stalls. There is no other performance problem as long as I keep my foot on the gas. Stop at a light or slow to turn and it stalls. This is now happening all of the time. I have replaced the fuel filter but still same problem. There are no check/service engine lights showing up but they DO work. I am good at working on cars but recently lost all tools books and auto related equipment when my workshop was flooded and nothing was salvagable and I honestly dont have $280 for a fuel pump. PLEEEEEASE HELP! Thanks!

Yeah, just get some carb clean and a old rag, spray the rag and wipe the part. Your also gonna want to do the little hole that it sits in, and clean the throttle plate etc.

Followed your instruction and remove the IAC valve and cleaned it and so far I have not had any more problems. Just curious what RPM's my Blazer should be idling at? Thanks
