1999 Chevy Blazer Picking up from a mechanic

1999 Chevy Blazer 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My friend sold me a 1999 Chevy Blazer it was in an accident one year ago at the Mechanic being paid off. It was hit at 60 mph on the Driver side and messed up the steering column so that has been fixed, however given the time it has been sitting etc and in case it is not fixed properly what should I be looking for. After the accident it was going strait adn would not turn. Also is there anything eles that should be checked after a crash such as that
