I am buying this car used. My check engine light has been coming on and off went to get a diagnostic test once and no code showed up. At some points when I was accelerating it would jerk in a sense like chugging kinda then it would go fine up to 35 or more. That stopped my check engine light has been off and on then just came back on recently. I was driving on the freeway the other day accelerating got up to about 60 and then it stopped accelerating rpms went down and I pushed the gas peddle all the way to the ground and it would not go still then started to decelerate. I pulled over on the freeway shut my car off and turned it back on and it went fine after that.

That could be any number of thinmgs.I would find a shop that has the ability to scan the computer and look in freeze frame/failure records, not just scan it. If the light came on it should have stored a code, that is what the light is for. At that mileage it could be a fuel pump, Mass Airflow meter, too many things to just guess.

I understand. The problem is that they use more of a code reader instead of an actual scanner. It may not allow access to the entire menu in the PCM. You will need to verify fuel pressure, you may want to change the fuel filter and see if that helps.
