What could be causing my vehicle to surge while driving and have a really strong gas smell coming from inside the cab? The vehicle runs good till it warms up the it starts surging. Already replaced fuel pump (feul pressure is correct), sending unit, filters, strainer, fuel regulator, new MAP sensor, new intake penulum gasket, new Spark plugs all set at correct gap, distributor cap and plugs. At the end of my rope! Please help.

Hi Nikkiw9779 and TY for the donation

Try checking the following below and comeback with some results

Possible causes include a bad O2 sensor, excessive fuel pressure (bad fuel pressure regulator or plugged return line), leaky fuel injectors, dirty air filter or restricted air inlet, or a defective coolant sensor that prevents the engine management system from going into closed loop mode

Other causes:

Oxygen sensor
Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires

It doesn't really hesitate per say. While driving it feels like it loses power then its like it get a big shot of gas and makes the tires spinout. It keeps doing it the whole time you drive. Was thinking I might have a fuel assemblyl leak under the intake penulum. One more thing it runs okay when you first start it up and its cold. After about 5 minutes it starts having the issues as described. Does that help narrow down the problem>

Open it up and check the pressure regulator if the passenger side of the plenum is wet its leaking. Also inspect the tubes/nut kit and poppet valves-
