Air bag sensor cleaning

How do I get my intermitent air bag light to stay off
I know that I need to clean the sensor connections how do I clean the one behind the bumper?
I know I need to remove the Fuse & disconnect the battery but how long does the air bag system need to stay unconnected so that the air bags don't go off. DIY'er

Hope you know what yer doin! Go 5 minjs top discharge the capaciter if the air bag light is on, I would get the code read, before doing anything!
