Electrical problem
2000 Chevy Astro 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 67000 miles

I have a 2000 chevy astro van and soon after I got an alarm system put in the battery has been dieing. I had the battery and alternator checked and both were in good condition. I had the alarm disconnected and the van still died. I have a stereo system and had the amp unplugged and it still died. I pass charge and get it started but a few minutes later its dead again. I never had a problem till the alarm but even having it disconnected it still died. What could be causing this?

You said I passed charge and it started. I dont know what exactly you mean. Does vehicle run for a long time and then you shut it off and it does not restart?

The van will start after passing charge to it from another vehicle. But when turned off like in 5 minutes it will be dead again. I drove it like 5 miles to move it to another place and it drove fine. With the remote I unlocked/locked it and by the 3rd day the van was dead.

I know you said the battery tested good. Replace your battery. Trust me put in a new battery.

The reason I say this is because ive been burnt by the battery tester. You could have a bad cell in a battery that is fairly new, and this batterys other cells are strong enough to pass the load test. Draining a battery dead even just one time can potentially ruin a new battery.
