1999 Chevy Astro low oil presure

Just got a rebuilt engine put in and driving home the gage showed lless than 20 lbs oil presure at idle, called mech. That did the work and he said this was normal. Well it droped some more and the check engine lite is on and now idles ruff. Whats wrong with it?

Your oil pressure is okay -You need to scan the computer for code/s you have a problem in the engine management system that's throwing the CEL. This is your starting point finding out what's wrong.
