I had went to the gas station and put gas into my van, later on that day the van started stalling and eventually cuts off. Now everytime the van is acclerated it will stall and cut off. We thought it was bad gas(and it still may be the problem) so we drove that gas out and put some more in it at a different gas station. It still hasn't improved. We were told that sometime rubbing acholol works to get the water out of gas, so we tried that. It is still stalling and is now cutting off more. We have to pull off very slowly and drive slowly so that it won't cut off so much. What can this be and how can we fix it?

Actually, the alcohol wasn't the best idea. If you only used a small amount, it should be fine, but that is why it is giving you more trouble now.

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Have you checked see if the fuel filter is plugged?

Let me know.

Yea we only put a small amount in. We burned out all the old gas and replaced it with 93. The fuel pump was replaced at the beginning of the year. I'm starting to think that maybe it was bad gas and that is could possibly had did damage to the fuel pump especially if there was water in the gas. Could that be possible? We haven't checked to see if the fuel pump is plugged.

Yes, it could have caused the problem. I would recommend checking the fuel pressure. Here is a how to for checking it. Let me know what you find.

NOTE: You will need a fuel pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend or rent them to you.
