Vehicle shut down in motion and would not start until a fuse for he fuel supply was found to be blown, replaced the fuse and vehicle started but the ''check engine'' and ''battery'' lights remained parmanently on. Checked the alternator and found that the alternator was not charging. Replaced several alternator but battery light comes up immediately engin load is increased by turning on the air conditioning and head lamps.

First fualt code retried was P1495 which EVAP Leak Detection Pump Solenoid Circuit Condition. I am told that the possible causes are the following: - Faulty Leak Detection Pump (LDP)
- Leak Detection Pump (LDP) harness is open or shorted
- Leak Detection Pump (LDP) poor electrical connection

How do I trouble shoot further? What can be the cause of the and what is the recommended solution.

A local technician advised that the alternator is regulated by the PCM and has advised that my PCM is faulty. He wanted to bypass the PCM to make the alternator charge properly again. What do you idvise?

Thank you.

Fabian.

First scan for codes to see what they all are. Here is possible causes for code you posted. It's I pic. It cold be a bad pum p but needs to be activated by a scanner to see if it is or not. If it's a short or open then it has to be check wiring wise prior to installing new pcm's ldop solenoid has to be checked for resistance so a pro should do this.
