I just passed 100,000 miles and my check engine light came on this morning. I am about 500 miles overdue for an oil change based on what the dealership told me and In the three years I have had it, they have said the air filters are fine every time I have gotten them checked. So, I haven't changed them yet (I was going to request they do it next time I went in regardless of if they think it is necessary). I just got a new gas cap so that should not be an issue. There was a recall at the end of 2020 on my car that I was not aware of until now. The Kia recall number is SC200. There are no noticeable issues with my car when I drive. Is the recall more than likely the reason the light came on and if not, what else could it be?

I don't think the recall is the issue, but if you call the dealer they can tell you more, it is probably an oxygen sensor heater that has stopped working which is very common but to be sure. let's run the codes which is easy by following this guide:

An engine code reader is like $20.00 on Amazon. Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
