Good Morning,

I accidentally charged my truck's battery with stand alone battery (not connected to a vehicle). After realizing I had reversed the cables (negative to positive) I try to disconnect it, but the battery cables were super hot. I quickly grabbed towels and managed to disconnect the battery cables. Well, the damage was done. When I started my truck the ABS and brakes light on dashboard are solid on. I had all speed sensors cleaned, I replaced the left rear wheel speed sensor, because of the error code indication, but that did not solve the problem. All of the fuses were verified to be okay. The error code still remains to be pointing to left rear wheel sensor. Is it possible that the ABS Sensor Wire (part number 89516-04050) may have shorted out? This vehicle takes one cable which feeds to both rear wheel speed sensors. Why the error code only complains about the left rear speed sensor and not right rear speed sensor, if it the ABS Sensor wiring? Thank you for your response.
Sincerely,
Bilal

Good morning.

Most likely you damaged the module from the reverse connections. Voltage spikes tend to fail modules. From the sounds of it, you are lucky you did not damage any other modules.

I would suggest replacing the ABS module.
