Some people say check the fluid via dipstick while car running, others say while car is off, which is it?
How much and what type of fluid is needed for a drain and fill?

Hi,

When testing the fluid level, the engine needs to be running at operating temperature, and the transmission in park.

If you look below, I provided the fluid type and the drain and fill procedures, which include how to check the level. (Pic 1)

Here is a link as well that you may find helpful:

It should be around four quarts for a drain and fill. Start with three and add as needed.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
