what is a difference between cataclean diesel and cataclean gas?

You cannot use the diesel treatment. This is meant for diesel engines only.

The difference is in the name. One is for gasoline engines (gas) and the other is for diesel engines.

Basically these engines run on very difference combustion systems. Meaning the diesel fuel will ignite from compressing it to the point it ignites. The gasoline engine requires the spark plug to ignite the fuel.

So these engines require very different additives to clean them up so you need to stick with the one that was formulated for your engine or it could damage your fuel system.

See below for more info on each of these. As you will see the gas product states it is for any gasoline engine. The diesel is for any diesel engine and they don't say you can mix them between engines.

One is for gas and one for diesel. The converters in each are different and the compounds that are used are feared for gas or diesel.

Rarely this additive works. It will not restore a converter to proper operation as the precious metals are the issue inside the converter.
