I have manually shifted under the hood. Cable is good.
The car just rocks back and forth when pushed.
The shifter was getting stuck and probably will again.
I cannot get it to roll to get it on a trailer.
It just revs.
It's like its stuck in the park gear even when it says it's in reverse, drive, or neutral. Manual shifting does the same thing, just rev. I hear it shifting like usual. But it wont budge!

I would check the fluid level first. Make sure its full and it's red, not brown. If its full and it's red then it will likely need a new transmission. May be a possible pump failure.
Let me know how the fluid check goes.

Hi,

First, make sure the shaft on the inhibitor switch is moving when the shift lever on the trans is moved. If it is, then you need to take it apart.

When the manual control lever is moved to the parking position, the parking roller rod moves along the parking roller support and pushes up the parking sprag.
As a result, the parking sprag meshes with the transfer driven gear (parking gear), thereby locking the output shaft. See pic 1.

I suspect something has broken with the park roller rod.

Let me know.

The manual shift rod is in the transmission. Did you check if the shift lever moves when you have someone shift the vehicle for you?

As far as a used transmission, that can get really expensive. If the transmission was working properly prior to this issue, I would likely repair what you have.

Let me know.

Hi,

I totally understand. If you have a chance, please let me know what is found. I suspect something has come apart inside, but it could even be something very simple.

Take care,
Joe
