Car won't start throwing code filler cup under pressure! Have changed the fuel filter. Dropped tank checked out fuel pump security light turns off. Can use starter fluid and it would start but no longer does. Had a problem last month couldn't put gas in like something was blocking it from going if. Please any suggestions after I dropped the tank car started and ran fine for 2 days then it went back to cranking but won't start!

Hi,

If it won't start using starting fluid, chances are you lost ignition spark as well. I need you to check that for me.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

Also, let me know what the code is. I'm not sure what a filler cup is.

Let me know.

Take care,

joe

Hi,

The code, B0449 isn't for this specific vehicle, so I checked for a P0449. That is for the charcoal canister (EVAP system).

Do me a favor. At each fuel injector, there will be two wires. Each injector will have a pink wire and another that is a different color. I need you to check if there is power to the pink wire on the injectors. I attached a pic below showing the wiring at the injectors. All you need is a test light.

When you test this, place the alligator clip of your test light on the battery-negative terminal and probe the pink wires with the light. The key will need to be in the run or start position and you should have power at all injectors (pink) wire.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

Hi,

If you have power to the injectors, we need to check for a ground path to the PCM. Here is what to do.

Take a test light and connect the alligator clip to the battery positive. Probe the opposite wire (at each injector there will be a wire other than the pink one) and have a helper crank the engine. Your test light should strobe on and off if the PCM is grounding the injector.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
