Recently bought a 98 pathfinder and ran great for a while, then started this little skip that turned in to just dying out in a matter of two weeks, changed out spark plugs, wires cap and button but still no results, then tried fuel filter and still no results pondered on it for a couple of days and decided to try rotating the distributor a tad and it cranked well thought I had it solved but next day it died and refuses to crank again. Figured that it must be in the distributor so I went ahead and put a new one in. Well still no luck. Checked to make sure I have spark on the wires of the new distributor and I do but it did look a little off on the firing. Any suggestions

And on another note before this started I had it checked for any code it said I had random miss fire and o2 sensor problems now since changin all the parts I've already listed it no longer shows no codes.I'm stuck now between fuel pump or catylac converter to check next but don't know what or how to test was goin to try the fuel by fuel pressure but have no idea where the pressure valve is really could use some step by step help

The link explains how to go about checking and have you confirmed that sparks are available?

For testing fuel pressure, you would need a pressure tester and it has to be installed somewhere along the fuel rail before the pressure regulator.

One way of testing if the fuel pump is working is to disconnect the fuel line and turn the ignition on. Fuel should gush out strongly for a short while.
