My daughter's G5 was having real problems running. Bucking, hesitating intermittently. Then a no start. Power everywhere but would not start when turning the key. No click, nothing. I jumped the crank relay and the starter turned right away. Measured across the other side of the relay and receive 12 volts when the key is turned. Towed it to our local garage and they changed the starter. They claim it ran fine. (Thinking it didn't need the starter) That night it starts fine but won't drive. I almost couldn't make a 2 minute drive. Stalled at least 6 times. Now, if I put it in drive, it stalls immediately. Have code p0705. Checked the wiring bundle near the front driver's side of the block, no chafed wires. Ground on the block was removed, cleaned and re-secured. I removed the throttle body, cleaned it, metered the values of the potentiometer and its smooth across the full range. I don't want to start buying parts without knowing what the right part is. I'm hoping you can help diagnose what would cause it to steal the time. Thank you so much.
It runs smooth as all in park, neutral and reverse. I can rev it up with no issues. Everything happens only when I put it in D, 2 or 1
***Update: problem solved. PRNDL sensor connector on tranny had rusted connector. Cleaned and polished up, runs perfectly again.
