Shuts off when transmission is shifted into drive

Car cut off all of sudden. Replace battery and alternator. Car cranks up but after putting car into drive it cuts off.

Is this an automatic transmission or a CVT?

I attached the info on what is the likely issue. Sounds like the torque converter is stuck on.

Basically this is like you release the clutch in a manual and the engine cuts off because you did not raise the RPM. The converter stalls the engine because it should not come on until the speed is higher. It is basically the high gear so if it comes on too low then it will stall the engine.
