My car has started making a squeaking noise whilst driving. It only stops when I apply the brakes. It has been going on for around a week. Brake pads were changed around 10,000 miles ago and rotors around a couple of years ago.

The sounds you are describing seem like worn brake pads even though you say they should be good; can you tell if the noise is in the front or rear of the car? Either way it sounds like you need front or rear pads, here are instructions for you to change the front and rear pads out. Also, I would do the rotors as well, it looks like you will need to reset the rear brake calipers which this video will show you how:

If you could upload a video of the noise, I could tell for sure what's going on, you can do so in your response. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Thank you for the instructions. It was the front pads so I changed all 4 and the discs and the noise is long gone.
